Fri 7th Aug 2020: Essex Way Relay

Essex Way Relay

The Essex Way Relay is an event that runs the length of the Essex Way footpath from Epping to Harwich. The race runs over 10 legs with each starting at a specific time so takes place over the whole day. This year’s event has been called off and instead they are looking at teams taking part under their own steam, ideally without cars.

Given the distances involved, the value of our bikes and the thought of leaving them locked to a lamppost while we run, I don’t think we can do it as a non-car event, however I think we could do it with two cars (or with one car over two weekends).

My suggestion for the event is below and the two dates I’m proposing are Sunday 6 September or Saturday 12 September. At this time I’m looking for expressions of interest to see if there are enough that would like to take part, please email me (Richard Fuller) stating which leg you would like to be considered for (bearing in mind there may be one or two cycle rides involved, either before or after the run), which date and whether there is an alternative date you could make.

Proposal
