By way of an update, we have received the go-ahead earlier this week from British Triathlon to re-start some of our Club training sessions. To begin with the plan is to start the Tuesday evening and Saturday morning running sessions along with the Sunday morning rides. With a bit of luck we should be able to start these the week beginning the 20th July, 2020 although we may have to put the Tuesday running back one week until Tuesday 28th July, 2020. The Club swimming sessions at Runnymede and Basildon Sporting Village cannot begin until we have received further guidance once pools re-open on the 25th July, 2020.
The Tuesday evening sessions will be at the usual time for both the kids and the adults, however a new running track is still under construction so we plan to use Gloucester Park instead until the new track is complete.
The club is also looking at some cycling sessions for the kids at Dunton and don’t forget we have the subsidised open water swimming sessions for the kids and adults with Tri and Swim Well at Trifram.
Please keep an eye on the Club Facebook page along with the Club Web Site for further announcements over the next few days. We are also very close to launching our new Website and going forward this will be used a lot more for Club news and events. The web address will of course remain the same.
In the meantime British Triathlon have released the following guidelines and thus I would recommend that all our Members take a few minutes to read these as we will all have to comply with government restrictions to ensure that we can all train in a safe environment.
Once again thanks to all our Members for your patience during this challenging time. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank those who have helped to keep the club community sprit going with all the virtual sessions.
