Although as a club we actively encourage members to wear club kit wherever possible please don't feel pressured into doing so. It's something that can be built up over time and without breaking the bank.
Surprisingly a Tri Suit is not an essential piece of kit as BTF rules don't stipulate that club colours must be worn when you race but it is a requirement of all England Athletics members to wear club colours to compete in any UKA affiliated events, such as Southend 10k or Brentwood Half, and that rule also applies to Saturday and Sunday cross country leagues too. So if you joined EETC as a first claim member, or you are eligible to run for us second claim, then you'll need to wear your cotton EETC shirt or preferably purchase a club running vest for any running races.
That being said there's nothing quite like crossing the finishing line to a welcoming sea of blue and yellow so wear your EETC colours with pride
To get you going all new members receive a free cotton shirt with their first years membership!
These are available to collect from Janice Brown at our scheduled training sessions so please see Janice to collect yours. They are also available to purchase @ £6 each should you require any extras/replacements.
We have an extensive range of branded club kit available from our online supplier, IMP Sport and we frequently make group orders for speciality items, such as hoodies and raincoats. Keep an eye out for notices of any special orders at training sessions, on the club Facebook page and the club website or if there's an item you think would be worthy of an order please talk to Jo Phelps, our club kit manager.
All our technical club kit is now only available to order online. This is done through our club shop at www.yourclubshop.co.uk. Just enter our club code 'EETC1256' in the login box at the top of the club shop page. This will take you to our club pages where you'll find links to all our essential bits of kit.
All items are made to order, sent directly to you from the supplier, and therefore unreturnable so it is important you try our samples for size before ordering (full details below). Each order will include an additional delivery charge so it's always worth mentioning on the Forum if you're planning to order as you may be able to split delivery costs with other members. Please note that 28 day delivery times apply so order well in advance if you need an item for a specific race.
Every three or four months, depending on demand, Jo will make a 'Bulk Order' of technical kit from our online supplier. This involves placing your orders with Jo Phelps rather than the online store itself and means we can take advantage of cheaper bulk buy rates and zero delivery charges. These bulk orders will be advertised via the club Facebook page and website along with an order form to be completed and returned to Jo.
Club member and resident Physiotherapist, Gemma Kemp, has selected items available at her brand new Wickford practice for members to try for size before placing an order. Gemma currently has the following items & sizes in stock.
Although an appointment is not necessary Gemma would appreciate it if members could call, text or email in advance. The new clinic has ample space for trying on kit but always best to check in case it's an exceptionally busy day for patients. Of course you could always make the most of your journey to Wickford and book yourself in for a sports massage or treatment at the same time.
