Captains Notes –14 May 2012

Complete contrasts in the weather did not deter our members from racing and training over the last few weekends. Whether it was a wet and miserable bank holiday, blustery gales our the welcome sunshine all our athletes rose to each occasion and performed magnificently.

   We are now looking

for those wonderful people we call marshals for these events.

Please contact Zena asap.

Good Luck to everyone taking part in events over the weekend especially at Crystal Palace, Nice Tri and St Felix .

Apologies to all those who completed the swimathon challenge but have not had the results displayed, including Peter Harley, Gemma Kemp, Richard Fuller amongst others. We will publish them as soon as they are listed on the swimathon website.

   Holme Pierre Point 25 August

Names are now being taken for this amazing event!

If you need more information ask anyone who did it last year! -

Yes it seems a long way off – but entries are now being accepted for the club champs. We are going for an open water format this time, although it is still a sprint distance.

The event will take place on Sunday 15th July 2012 at Promenade Park, Maldon. Open Water Swim in the River Blackwater. Cycle the quiet and scenic roads of the Dengie Peninsula and a lapped run around the beautiful Promenade Park and Hythe Quay.

There are plenty of facilities for the whole family, activities throughout the day and countless cafes lining the route – it should be a great event. Remember to enter as East Essex!!!
